GDC China 2014 announced for Oct 19-21st: call for talks now open

The call for Mandarin and English submissions to present talks for the 2014 Game Developers Conference China is now open until May 15.
Organized by UBM Tech Game Network, the 7th annual GDC China will move up to October this year, running the 19th to the 21st at the Shanghai International Convention Center in Shanghai, China.
Submissions will be accepted until May 15th for papers on Game Design, Production, Business & Marketing, Smartphone & Tablet Games, and Independent Games.

As ever for the GDC shows, organizers are looking for leading industry practitioners to propose lectures and panels with significant, applicable takeaways for today's video game community.
GDC China continues to be the premier professional conference for the creators of games and interactive entertainment in Asia. Chosen speakers can join the world's leading developers to exchange ideas, be inspired, and to further advance the business, knowledge and technology behind game creation in Asia.
Highlights from the 2013 conference included Spec Ops: The Line writer Walt Williams speaking about the challenge of making violence meaningful in video games, Papa & Yo creator Vander Caballero describing the evolving role of game designers, DayZ developer Dean Hall explaining how to stay sane when your game goes viral, and industry veteran Katherine de Leon sharing tips for using lean development techniques to quickly bring your game to market.
GDC China 2013 also held the 5th annual IGF China awards, led by the Best Game winner, the monochromatic puzzler One Upon Light, and the Best Student Game winner, the China Academy of Art's Mineland.
Registration for GDC China 2014 itself is expected to open later this month. For more information on the event, please visit the official conference site.
