One of GDC's most acclaimed interactive spaces, alt.ctrl.GDC - an on-site showcase of alternative control schemes and interactions in games - returns for a fifth year in 2018.
Co-helmed by veteran indie curator John Polson, the alt.ctrl.GDC exhibit will take place from March 21-23, 2018 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco on the GDC Expo Floor. In addition, we're delighted to announce that this is the second year of the alt.ctrl.GDC Award ($3,000), which will be given out at the 2018 Independent Games Festival Ceremony - held on March 21, 2018 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
This award will be given to the most engaging, intriguing, and well-executed game using unconventional, accessible or alternative physical controls which is entered into the alt.ctrl.GDC showcase - taking place alongside the IGF at GDC.
(Please note, if you submit to the IGF you must also submit separately to alt.ctrl.GDC to be considered for the alt.ctrl.GDC Award – the finalists and winner for this award will be selected from the participants of the alt.ctrl.GDC showcase, so please enter via that method.)
