It's almost time for the Game Developers Choice Awards and 25th annual Independent Games Festival Awards, happening at GDC 2024 in San Francisco on March 20. Here's how you can join us—whether in-person or watching the ceremony from home.
Register for GDC 2024
GDC 2024 will be hosting the IGF Awards and GDCA ceremony at the GDC Main Stage, located in the West Hall of the Moscone Convention Center. Festivities start with a Live Audience RPG performance from Extra Lives. The pre-show kicks off Wednesday, March 20 at 5:30pm PT, with the ceremony starting at 6:30pm PT, and both events are available for all GDC pass holders.
The ceremonies will also be shown live on the official GDC Twitch channel, and you can watch them back-to-back in our Twitch livestream.

The event starts with the 26th annual IGF Awards. Visai Games' Venba leads with nominations in four categories: Excellence in Audio, Excellence in Narrative, Excellence in Visual Art and for the Seumas McNally Grand Prize. Venba is followed by five other finalist titles who share the distinction of having three nominations apiece: 1000xRESIST (Sunset Visitor / Fellow Traveller), A Highland Song (inkle), Anthology of the Killer (Thecatamites, Tommy Tone, A. Degen / Thecatamites), COCOON (Geometric Interactive / Annapurna Interactive), and Mediterranea Inferno (EYEGUYS / Santa Ragione).
The 24th annual Game Developers Choice Awards sees nominations led by The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Nintendo) and Baldur’s Gate 3 (Larian Studios), which each received a total of seven nominations including Game of the Year. Following close behind is indie game COCOON (Geometric Interactive / Annapurna Interactive), which received five total nominations at GDCA including Game of the Year.
