Xbox's Marc Whitten sits down for a fireside chat at GDC 2014

Passes for the Game Developers Conference 2014 are still on sale, and today we're proud to announce a very special interview session you ought to know about.
Xbox chief product officer Marc Whitten will join Gamasutra Editor-In-Chief Kris Graft onstage at GDC 2014 to have a candid fireside chat session about all things Xbox. Attendees of the talk can expect to learn more about the development and launch of the Xbox One, independent developers' role on the platform via the ID@Xbox program, and what Whitten believes the future of Xbox One development will look like.

Marc Whitten serves as a Microsoft corporate vice president and the chief product officer for Xbox. As such, he's responsible for overseeing hardware, software and services as well as design and program management for the division. He is also responsible for managing the Xbox Live service. Whitten has also worked closely with Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios, to bring games to life through the interactive features of Xbox Live.
Whitten has worked on Xbox and Xbox Live for more than a decade and has delivered key products and services such as Kinect, SmartGlass and the suite of entertainment services such as Xbox Music and Xbox Video on Xbox One, Xbox 360, Windows 8 and Windows Phone.
Kris Graft serves as Editor-In-Chief of Gamasutra, and was previously Content Director for the Independent Games Festival. Prior to joining Gamasutra, he was Senior Contributing Editor for the video game business websites Next-Gen.biz and Edge Online.
Their fireside chat is expected to last an hour, though the exact date and time will be announced at a later date as the GDC schedule evolves. To keep it on your radar, simply add Xbox's Marc Whitten: Fireside Chat to your GDC 2014 session schedule.
In fact, all of the announced talks are now available in the online GDC 2014 Session Scheduler, where you can begin to build your conference week and later export it to the up-to-the-minute GDC Mobile App, coming soon.
Now in its 28th year, GDC is the world's largest and longest-running professionals-only game industry event, and will once again take place at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California during March 17-21, 2014.
