The GDC Main Stage Keynote will return in 2020 with a new lineup of entertainment and prominent industry leaders sharing their experiences around important game industry themes. GDC Main Stage: The Developer’s Journey, focuses on finding inspiration over the course of a game’s development cycle, from its earliest conception through its development, to dealing with the fallout from the release and the post-release content.

The inaugural special event will open with a musical performance generated in Media Molecule’s Dreams, and feature Siobhan Reddy explaining how Dreams helps unlock players’ creativity in unprecedented user-generated detail. Hello Games’ Sean Murray follows with a candid discussion about the power of focusing on what you do, rather than what you say, in the face of adversity, and veteran game developer Laralyn McWilliams will close the presentation speaking to her experience finding resolve and inspiration in stressful environments. 

The Main Stage presentation will be open to all GDC Conference and Expo+ pass holders and will be live-streamed via GDC’s Twitch channel (
