Come to VRDC for VR production tips from the experts at Kite & Lightning

Today Game Developers Conference organizers are proud to highlight another great talk for the Virtual Reality Developers Conference, a sister conference that will take place alongside GDC 2016 in San Francisco this March.

Like the eight focused Summits at GDC, the VRDC jumpstarts the week with two full days of lectures, panels, postmortems, and more to foster community-building and knowledge-sharing within the nascent VR/AR development industry.

Conference officials are pleased to welcome VR experts Ikrima Elhassan and Cory Strassburger, co-founders of the VR production house Kite & Lightning, to share their knowledge in a talk simply titled "VR Production & Development: A Deep Dive Into Kite & Lightning's Workflow."

If you're not familiar with them yet, know that Kite & Lightning is a two-man VR team that's created art house pieces such as Senza Peso as well as VR experiences for Lionsgate's tentpole film, Insurgent: Shatter Reality.

Make time to catch their practical and concrete VRDC talk covering all aspects of Kite & Lightning's cinematic production design workflow for VR. This will be an open soup to nuts overview ranging from storyboarding/ideation phase all the way to production and development/release.

The goal is to share all the hard earned lessons that K&L has learned as well as discuss how they are tackling existing challenges such as creating a story telling language for VR. They will also dive into specifics of tooling, workflow, pipeline that empower them as a two person indie duo with indie budgets to create blockbuster VR experiences.

Plus, you can look forward to many more VRDC sessions, alongside a plethora of GDC and GDC Summit sessions, being announced in the weeks ahead. For now, don't miss the opportunity to save money by registering for the conference early -- the deadline to register for passes at a discounted rate is Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016.

The inaugural VRDC will take place in San Francisco March 14th-16th, alongside the March 14th-18th run of GDC 2016 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. For more information on VRDC, visit the show's official website, or subscribe to regular updates via FacebookTwitter, or RSS.
