Come to GDC Europe and learn how Bohemia nabs DayZ cheaters

GDC officials are still working around the clock to line up great talks for GDC Europe this year, and today they're pleased to announce two more exciting sessions for the upcoming August conference.

The conference itself will take place August 3rd and 4th in Cologne, Germany, and today's talks exemplify organizers' efforts to find experts that can combine and share learnings across multiple fields of game development.

For example, Bohemia Interactive's Eugen Harton will be delivering a talk about combating cheaters in DayZ that straddles the Programming and Production tracks of GDC Europe sessions. In "Once a Cheater, Always A Cheater: Gotta Catch 'Em All" Harton will walk you through go through a detailed timeline of DayZ's development failures and wins, focusing on how to protect an Early Access game from manipulation both external and internal.

Expect fresh insight on methods of injection, backtracking, obfuscation, banning, logging and how to deal with these during early access or after release.

Also, GDC Europe attendees will be able to catch WildWorks CEO Clark Stacey talking about what the company learned about making games for young players in a practical session that spans both the Production and Business, Marketing and Management tracks of talks. Stacey's talk, "From Web to Mobile in the Kids Game Market," will chronicle what WildWorks developers learned in trying to make a mobile game that was both successful and appropriate for young players.

Check it out if you'd like to better understand the marketplace for kids' mobile games, US law governing children's online protection, and the pros and cons of various strategic options for successful, ethical monetization of young players.

You can find more details on these and all other announced talks on the GDC Europe Schedule Builder, and early birds can still register for GDC Europe 2015 by July 8th to save 200 euros on an All Access Pass.

And there's more to GDC Europe than just an all-star lineup of sessions, as the conference will also continue to offer business and matchmaking opportunities to all attendees with a developer-focused Expo Floor area and networking events throughout the show.
