GDC Next adds talks on mobile marketing and PopCap's sound design

GDC Next 2014 featuring ADC is fast approaching, and today the organizers are excited to reveal two more great talks that will take place at this year's November conference.
This year PopCap's own Damian Kastbauer will be coming to GDC Next to give a talk on what it takes to deliver great game audio regardless of platform, while a panel of experienced mobile talent will share what they've learned about the trials of building a brand for your mobile game/app that's reputable, long-lasting and relevant on a global scale.

GDC Next and ADC, which aim to highlight practical ways for developers to increase the creative and financial success of their projects, are taking place simultaneously on November 3rd-4th, 2014 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
PopCap technical sound designer Damian Kastbauer is a veteran of the game industry (and a former contributing editor to Game Developer magazine) who will be speaking at GDC Next about what it takes to deliver high-quality audio across multiple platforms, from the Xbox One to the average iOS device. Kastbauer's talk, "Game Audio - No Excuses," is designed to help developers understand the similarities between current game audio best practices across platforms and explore audio production strategies that can help make a good game great. The veteran sound designer will also share lessons learned and tip off game makers to resources anyone can use to facilitate the creation of great game audio.
Also, as part of GDC Next's featured ADC track of talks, business-minded attendees should take note of a session on brand development that offers potentially useful advice to mobile game makers. The "Building A Global Mobile Brand with Longevity" panel will see a host of notable mobile game/app developers offering their advice on how to best build a lasting brand with global appeal. Panelists will expound on important issues like strategic licensing, business development, international distribution, and leveraging your intellectual property -- sharing their own successes, failures and lessons learned in the process.
And conference organizers look forward to announcing more talks in the weeks before this year's GDC Next featuring ADC, which takes place November 3rd-4th, 2014 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
